This week in Boise dance music 10/22-10/29

I’ve decided to start a new weekly newsletter that will come out every Sunday night with the purpose of informing the masses what is happening dance music related in the Boise area the upcoming week. I’ll also give a mini review about what happened the previous week. I’ll mention the events that are happening but also other dance music related news such as local artist releases etc. If you have an event or anything you’d like featured please contact me at: So without further ado: This week in Boise dance music:

The upcoming week is what I like to call Halloweekend; or rather the weekend closest to Halloween; which is typically one of the biggest party weekends of the year. This year we dance music fans in the Boise area have 3 nights in a row of great events. Thursday 10/26 FML Monster Bash at Fattys is the 2nd week of doing a fundraiser for Jeffrey Jensen who ran FML Thursdays at Fattys which was the longest running EDM weekly in Boise nightlife history. Jeffrey is currently battling cancer and we thought It’d be nice to help him raise some funds for medical bills. We do this with adult trick or treating: By donating $5 you get a trick or treat which could be a free drink, free tickets to future Audio Thrill and Konnexion Music Festival events, as well as gifts from our sponsors: CP Audio, Strongline Espresso, and Purple Lotus. For the music to get you dancing then some of Boise’s best Old school DJs have stepped up to play for the night with: Tony Krave vs. Tommie Sae, Jeremiah, Helix Protocol & Dudster(playing tracks Jeff gave him)

Friday 10/27 8th Annual Fright Fest: Battle of the Bass with 2 headlinerrs: Partywave from the US and SEVEN from the UK battling. This will be in an all new venue located in Boise TBA day of the event. Buy your ticket to receive an e-mail with the address the day of. This is a private party done this way for legal reasons. There will be a main stage with music all night as well as a silent disco hosted by Camp Wander out back. We’ll have a big outside area with a bon fire and festival vibes right in the city. These 2 headliners both make really DEEP bass music but of a different variety, after they play their own set’s inside on main stage they’ll battle at the same time on 2 channels as part of the silent disco. There will be 11 local DJs as well always 2 simultaneously during the silent disco and one main stage. See the FB event page for a list of locals with links to their pages. Get your tickets now. Sat. 10/28 KMF Halloween with Doctor Jeep: Doctor Jeep is not to be missed, this is a new Halloween event that Konnexion Music Festival is putting on at The Shredder This is the place to be for underground bass goodness.

Sat. 10/28 Freaky Fest which is Revolution concert house’s annual Halloween event. This year Dada Life and DJ Bl3nd headline. Electro House and big concert vibes.

Wed. 10/18 Ecstatic Dance Boise Soul movement at Idaho Dance Sport See this video to learn about what Ecstatic dance is. Basically it’s a sober dance with no talking as a spiritual practice. Meditation through movement so to speak. I’ll be hosting every First Sunday starting 11/5. Rio Love hosts every other Wed. and Jean hosts 3rd Sundays. Thur. 10/19 KMF presents Konnexted club nights
This past week Konnexion music festival hosted their 2nd monthly club night and with the adult trick or treat raised close to $500 for Jeffrey Jensen’s medical bills in his fight with cancer. Myself- Big Ups played along with KMF founder Donald Bumps aka Brandon Lee as well as long time Boise DJ and promoter Funk N Geezus. It was a fun night and we were very pleased with what we raised. A big thank you to everyone who donated!

Thur. 10/19 THUMP Nightmare on 9th street at Knitting Factory. Pariah Reign‘s monthly 18+ club nigh was back for a stacked local line up and great time.

Sat. 10/21 Westys Out Here by WOH Club was a unique mix of cosmic blowling at Westy’s with some of Boise’s finest local talent DJing. Dance party meets bowling with awesome lasers and bumpin beats. WOH doesn’t disappoint.
